All-Star Team Selection Process
Overview
•          The purpose of the All-Star Team selection is to identify and select the players for the post-season All-Star teams who will best represent our League in post-season plan. The intent of the system is to choose players based on availability, ability, residency, and age.
•          All-Star Teams:
–        Baseball: Little League (11-12 year old), 10-11 Year-old and 9-10 Year-old team
–        Softball: Junior League (12-14 year old), Little League (11-12 year old), 10-11 Year-Old, 9-10 Year-Old
 
Timeline
•          May 20 – June 3, Players, parents or managers confirm player availability, League Age, and Residency
•          June 2 – Create Ballots
•          Voting/selection begins June 4 ends June 11th
•          June 12-15: Baseball Selection Night: President, Baseball Chair, Major & Minor Age Coordinators, Tourney Team Managers, and Player Agent
•          June 12-15: Softball Selection Night: President, Softball Chair, Junior, Age Coordinators and Player Agent
•          June 15: BOD ratification of Team and Coaches – announce the team rosters
 
Baseball Selection Process
    1. Players register on-line to be considered for all-star teams
a)      Confirm residency, age and availability for practices and games
b)      Players whose age qualifies them for two teams can register for one or both teams
    1. Ballot for each Little League (11/12) team is created from major league player registrations
a)      Team is voted by Majors coaches and players.
b)      Top 8 vote getters automatically make team
c)       Manager is selected from parents of top 8 players
d)      Final roster spots filled by manager from list created by player agent of next highest vote getters
e)      Final team approved by Board
    1. Ballot for 10/11 team is created from major league player registrations
a)      Team is voted by Majors coaches.
b)      Top 8 vote getters automatically make team
c)       Manager is selected from parents of top 8 players
d)      Final roster spots filled by manager from list created by player agent of next highest vote getters and recommended list of minor league players by minor league coaches
e)      Final team approved by Board
    1. 9/10 All star team
a)      Team recommended from rookie, minor league and major league registrations by committee
b)      Committee consists of 9 and 10 tourney team coaches and minor /major age coordinators
c)       Recommended team reviewed and approved by President, Vice President, Director of baseball and Player Agent
d)      Final team approved by Board
Softball Selection Process
1.            Coaches confirm in-house players interested in all-star play
a)      Confirm residency, age and availability for practices and games
2.           All star teams are by selected coaches and age coordinators since eligible players for each team likely play at different grade levels
3.           Teams approved by Board
