The Chanhassen Athletic Association (CAA) and the Chaska Youth Softball Association (CYSA) are working together to host softball clinics and lessons for you. As the clinic is scheduled we will post the information here in the News.
Pitcher Safety Note

There are several brands available. Two common ones are available at RIP-IT and Bangerz.
*NEW* Hitting Workout
CAA Coaches are hosting a hitting workout on Sunday Feb 14 at the Chanhassen High School Gym 2.
We are using our new batting cages and 6-8 hitting workout stations. This will be an outstanding hitting workout with experienced coach assistance.
Cost is a low $10 per player simply to cover the cost of the gym rental and equipment wear and tear. Please pay when you arrive.
Ages 9-12 from 4:00-5:30 pm
Ages 13-16 from 5:30-7:00 pm

Softball Fastpitch Pitching Lessons
While you are taking a breather between sports (?) CAA wants to have you plan for a few pitching lessons or workouts. The vision is to reserve indoor space so that we make room for two things - space to come and throw on your own, or space to take lessons. Here's the deal!
We are reserving space now for pitching lessons Jan-Mar. Final details to be published.

CYSA Hitting Academy
CYSA is pleased to announce our inaugural Hitting Academy, which will lead by Kristina Trapp (head coach for the Chaska Hawks Varsity Softball team) in conjunction with CYSA. Please join us for these fun, fast-paced sessions of individual and group hitting instruction. The cost for all four sessions is $75 (each 4-session pre-registered participant will receive a t-shirt). If you wish to sign up for individual sessions, the price is $25 per session.
Times, dates and locations are as follows:
Sunday, February 7 at the CMSW Large Gym (1:00 - 2:15 -- 8U & 10U; 2:30 - 4:00 -- 12U & 14U)
Sunday, February 21 at the CMSW Large Gym (3:30 - 4:45 -- 8U & 10U; 5:00 - 6:30 -- 12U & 14U)
Sunday, February 28 at the CMSW Large Gym (3:30 - 4:45 -- 8U & 10U; 5:00 - 6:30 -- 12U & 14U)
Sunday, March 7 at the CMSW Large Gym (3:30 - 4:45 -- 8U & 10U; 5:00 - 6:30 -- 12U & 14U)
Note: due to high school regulations, girls in 9th grade at Chaska High School are not allowed to be coached by their high school staff in the off-season.

Storm Travel Softball State Tournaments
Congrads to the 12U Ice Storm for winning their Suburban League Tournament and the MMFL State Tournament. They earned a berth to the National tournament held in Eagan July 23-26.
Congrads to the 10U Hail Storm for winning 5th place in the MMFL State Tournament and earning a berth to the National Tournament held in White Bear Lake July 23-26.
The 14U Thunder Storm and Lightning Storm had an outstanding Suburban League Qualifier Tournament, the 14U Lightning Storm won their tournament and the Thunder Storm went 2-2.
Storm Travel Softball NAFA Northern National Tournament
The 10U Hail Storm and 12U Ice Storm played in the NAFA Northern National Tournaments this weekend in White Bear Lake and Eagan respectively (www.nafaregion3.com)
The 10U Hail Storm had good games versus Roseville Raiders, Anoka Ramsey Tornados, Eden Prairie, and Minnetonka Magic. Congrads to the Hail Storm on a successful trip to Nationals.
The 12U Ice Storm had good games versus Cary Crush (IL), Apple Valley Brown, Anoka Ramsey Tornados, Invergrove Heights, St. Michael Albertville, St. Peter Saints, Bloomington Blue, and Triple Play Express (IL). The Ice Storm finished in the top 10 teams with a very good 4-4 record. Way to go Ice Storm.
